What you’ll do:
- Provides counseling and guidance services by effectively communicating vocational-related issues with
clients. - Receives referrals, conducts interviews and gathers information to determine eligibility.
- Analyzes, interprets and evaluates medical, psychological, social, educational, and employment
information regarding applicants. - Arranges for or administers appropriate assessments to ascertain client’s aptitudes, interests, and
abilities. - Prepares, recommends, and arranges for provision of rehabilitation services in accordance with
approved individualized plans for employment. - Assumes responsibility for suitable placement and follow-up in employment.
Minimum Requirements - Master’s degree from an accredited college/university in rehabilitation counseling, guidance and
counseling, clinical psychology, clinical social work with experience in vocational counseling or closely
related field. - Work experience in case management, counseling, rehabilitation counseling, and or with persons with
disabilities will be given preference. - (Individuals with a Bachelor’s degree, incomplete Master’s degree, or Master’s degree in a field other
than those listed above may be considered for employment with the requirement to attain a Master’s
degree or Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation Counseling.)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Knowledge of counseling and guidance techniques; occupations in terms of skills, demands, training,
working conditions; human behavior; and case management. - Ability to effectively communicate; maintain effective working relationships; and utilize reports/data to
inform work. - Travel is required for client and partner contacts and occasional overnight stays for trainings and
meetings.
