UW Medicine Supply Chain Management's objective is to ensure our patient care experience is enhanced by delivering a robust foundation of services, operational and technical support, and the sharing of comprehensive, relevant, and highly specialized supply chain management expertise.
UW Medicine Supply Chain Management has an outstanding opportunity for a PART-TIME SUPPLY CHAIN TECHNICIAN LEAD (60%, WEEKEND DAY SHIFTS). This position will be based at UW Medical Center. The Supply Chain Technician Lead (SCT Lead) leads Supply Chain staff and puts away, requisitions, picks, distributes, and delivers general, medical, and surgical supplies and equipment throughout various healthcare settings.
Additional SCT Lead duties:
- Perform advanced supply chain duties such as managing rental equipment and regular interaction with and utilization of Supply Chain point-of-use (POU) technology.
- Regularly assign, instruct, and check the work of others.
- Under general supervision, ensure that established priorities are carried out and deadlines met to support the work of the UW Medicine Supply Chain department.
- Other duties as assigned.
DESIRED:
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- Associate’s Degree or higher.
- Proficiency in utilizing the MMIS.
- Knowledge of general office equipment such a fax machines, copy machines, and printers.
- Ability to work in a busy, high-pressure environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders to include coworkers, management, and clinical partners.
- Demonstrated proficiency in English, both written and verbal, including active listening.
- Demonstrated proficiency in customer service and problem-solving.
- Knowledge and competent use of Microsoft office products.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- Typing, use of computers, computer software, and the ability to learn software applications necessary in the performance of typical work.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance, climbing stairs, kneeling, reaching (overhead/extension), sitting, stooping (bend at waist), and twisting (knees/waist/neck).
- Frequently carrying items, crouching, operating a keyboard, pushing/pulling, and hand/eye coordination.
- Continuously grasping/handling, lifting, standing, and walking.
