Our Facility Services Department is looking for a Building Maintenance Engineer to join their team and assist in providing a clean, safe, healthy and dependable work environment. This team member will be a key contributor in the overall maintenance and operation of our buildings, grounds and equipment.
Facility Services works a 4.5 day week. This is a 2nd shift position; Tuesday thru Thursday (2:00 pm – 11:00 pm), 1/2 day Friday (rotating between10:00 am – 2:30 pm and 12:30 pm – 5:00 pm), 1st shift coverage on Saturday, off on Sunday and Monday.
Responsibilities include:
Maintenance of Building and Grounds:
- Assist with a variety of maintenance and repair duties assigned in facility operations.
- Operate, maintain and repair HVAC equipment and systems.
- Trouble shoot and repair plumbing and electrical systems.
- Perform general carpentry and be proficient with associated tools.
- Perform interior and exterior painting, staining, and top coating with a general knowledge of paints and stains.
- Maintain equipment thru proper preventative maintenance procedures.
- Assist with maintaining the grounds in a clean, neat, safe and attractive manner.
- Assist in the removal of snow and ice from vehicular and pedestrian surfaces.
- Performs annual inspections of building systems.
- Accurately prepare and complete required paperwork and reports in a timely manner.
Associate Work Environment Support:
- General understanding of office and systems furniture with the ability to assemble, disassemble and move furnishings and components.
- Organize and execute personnel and furniture moves.
- Set up rooms and facilities for meetings and events.
Safety and Security:
- Building Life Safety and Security Team member with participation in safety and emergency programs.
- Serve as Building Security, when needed.
- Provide coverage on Facility Services Help Desk.
- Other duties, as required.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Minimum of 3 years general maintenance experience. Applicable areas of experience include carpentry, painting; minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building maintenance is required.
- Possess good understanding of mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems; refrigeration equipment plus fire detection and suppression systems.
- Must be able to work 2nd shift hours of:
- Tues., Wed., Thurs.: 2:00 pm – 11:00 pm
- Fridays: Alternating between 10:00 am – 2:30 pm and 12:30 pm – 5:00 pm
- Saturdays: 1st shift (start time between 6:00-8:00 am)
- Must be able to work overtime when necessary.
- Good mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and work from sketches and blueprints is required.
- Ability to operate machinery and equipment (i.e., snow plows, skid steer loader, etc.) used in facilities and grounds maintenance is required.
- Computer experience in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn proprietary software utilized by Facility Services.
- Experience with building automated systems preferred.
- Experience with CMMS software a plus.
- AutoCAD experience a plus.
- CDL license preferred.
- Ability to independently manage production requirements and operational goals.
- Possess good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- College credits in related field acknowledged.
- Ability to travel for branch office support when required.
