Code Enforcement Officer
The Town of Inglis
is seeking proposals for a
Code Enforcement Officer
(Part-Time)
Drug testing required. Proposals must be received at the Town Hall. 135 Hwy 40 W. Inglis Florida 34449 by December 9th, 2022, Noon. Town Hall hours of 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. E.O.E
Code Enforcement officers enforce codes and ordinances dealing with violations which include, but are not limited to, minimum housing standards, inoperative vehicles, prohibited vehicles, trash accumulation, lot clearing, zoning violations, noise violations, and signage violations. Duties also include but are not limited to issuance of notices of violation, citations, and case preparation and Board presentation. The Code Enforcement Officer must possess the ability to work independently, be self-motivated, organized, thorough and accurate in reporting.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
· 2 years of field experience in regulatory compliance and enforcement work
· High School Diploma
· Certification in the appropriate areas of assignment from the Florida Association of Code Enforcement.
· An equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Requirements
· Possession and maintenance of a valid Florida Driver's License.
· Assignment to work a variety of work schedules including compulsory work periods in special, emergency, and/or disaster situations.
Highly Desirable
· Associate’s or more advanced degree in law enforcement, criminal justice, natural sciences, public administration, or a related field and at least 4 years of field experience in regulatory compliance and enforcement work; or
· Other highly desirable knowledge, skills, abilities, and credentials relevant to a position.
