Special Projects Assistant Managing Editor
Assistant Managing Editor- Special Projects
We're looking for a special-projects editor for our newsroom who will have a couple of key responsibilities: helping with our already successful grant proposals initiative, leading some of the reporters we get through these grants and helping with our Sunday A1 packages. Grant-writing experience is not a requirement, but it is an important component of this job. Training will be provided. For our Sunday stories and special projects, we are looking for an editor with experience dealing with complicated stories. We are a relatively young newsroom, so we need a positive-focused leader who still cares about making local journalism work. We're a family-owned, 75,000-circ newspaper with a newsroom of 55 people. The ideal candidate will have a journalism degree with a minimum of five years experience at a daily publication, including some newsroom management. Applicant must have a successful track record of multiple enterprise-level journalism projects. This position is exempt with a full suite of benefits including medical, dental, life insurance, EAP, LTD, paid vacation, holidays and sick time, a matching 401(k) program and more!
