Utility Technician
The Homosassa Special Water District is now hiring for a Utility Technician.

Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour

Description: This position is unskilled and semi-skilled work assisting in the Water District operations and use of construction and maintenance equipment. Duties include installation, reading and maintenance of meters, vegetation control, maintenance of buildings, grounds, hydrants, valves and equipment, repair, replacement and installation of water mains and heavy manual labor tasks. This position requires the ability to work outdoors in hot/cold weather conditions and requires prolonged standing, heavy lifting, pushing, bending, climbing, reaching and pulling. May operate light to heavy equipment in an occasional or temporary basis. Will be trained in leak detection and the operation of the District's leak detection equipment. Performs related work as required and directed by the District's Field Foreman.
Requirements: Graduation from high school, GED or an equivalent combination of experience and training. Some experience in performing heavy manual labor. Ability to use standard maintenance equipment and hand tools. Must have current valid Florida Driver License. Must have sufficient physical strength, agility and stamina to perform assigned tasks under adverse conditions. Must successfully pass an employment reference check, criminal background check, physical examination and drug test. Applicant must be a resident of Citrus County.
