Bellingham Technical College is recruiting for a temporary Counselor beginning in January/February 2019 and continuing to about April/May, 2019, to cover for a medical leave of absence. This is a non-tenure track, faculty position.
The counselor is responsible for providing short-term personal/mental health counseling and crisis intervention for a diverse student population. The counselor will also provide consultation to faculty and staff in their efforts to help students succeed. This position is located within the Admissions & Student Resource Center and collaborates closely with other Student Services programs.
Requires a minimum of: Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, or related field from an accredited institution; two years of equivalent full-time work experience in counseling individuals regarding personal, mental health, academic and career issues.
Although full-time is desired, hours and days of the week are somewhat flexible. Part-time will also be considered. Minimally 20 hours per week. The work schedule is generally during the 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. workday, Monday through Friday, and based on the academic calendar.
